Dr. Ketul Joshi
Dr. Joshi specializes in General Optometry, Contact Lenses, Dry Eye and Computer Vision Syndrome, and is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association and the Santa Clara County Optometric Society. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Optometric Society.
He earned his BS, with distinction, from the University of Alberta, and made the Dean’s List while earning his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St. Louis College of Optometry. Dr. Joshi was the proud recipient of the 2010 California Optometric Association Young Optometrist of the Year Award.
As a child, Dr. Joshi grew up in Edmonton, Canada, and enjoyed skiing and playing hockey in the winter and playing basketball in the summer. He also enjoyed spending time hiking in the Rockies and attending the many festivals that the city had to offer during the year. He was always interested in biology and specifically the visual system and how the eyes impact our perception of the world around us.
Dr. Joshi is married with 2 children, a 14yr old girl and 11yr old boy. In his spare time he enjoys running, golf and staying active. He has participated in many 10K and half marathons as well as completing a Spartan Trifecta.
Dr. Joan Jen
Dr. Joan Jen possesses a B.Sc. in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, with an emphasis on Physiology from the University of CA, Davis and a Doctor of Optometry from University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Jen has been in practice for 10 years, and specializes in LASIK co-management.
She grew up in the Bay Area and is an avid sports fan, especially for football and fantasy football, skiing and running. She also enjoys traveling and is a big animal lover and advocate.
Dr. Caleb Poon
Doctor Poon graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where he received a solid and challenging education. Before optometry school, he graduated with latin honors from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychobiology.
Doctor Poon completed a diverse array of externships such as La Clinica in Oakland, California State University, Sacramento Society for the Blind and the Monterey VA. At UC Berkeley, Dr. Poon completed rotations in school vision screenings, advanced contact lens clinic, binocular vision clinic, low vision clinic, and over 60’s clinic.
In addition to a rigorous academic education, Doctor Poon participated in a volunteer trip with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) to San Juan Del Sur in Nicaragua to give free eye exams, distance glasses, reading glasses, bifocals, and sunglasses.
Doctor Poon enjoys spending time with family and friends from church. He also enjoys reading, music, traveling, and well-made escape rooms.
Mitch Nagtalon, ABOC, started his optical career in the early 90’s as an optometric assistant. With a strong medical background and passion for optics, he has worked with multipl pediatric, retinal, general ophthalmology and optometry clinics in the past 20 years. Certified by the American Board of Opticianry, he has worked closely with labs and manufacturers like Oakley to push the boundaries of prescription lens technology, giving patients more options. Filipino native, Mitch loves cooking, the outdoors, video games, the 80’s, plays the guitar and keyboard and traveling with his wife Anna and son Timothy.
Rubi is known for her helpful and positive attitude. She has a decade of experience as an optician and is passionate about continuing her education in the optical field. She takes pride in helping patients accessorize with the perfect pair of glasses!
Growing up in sunny California she enjoys spending time hiking, swimming, bike riding and trips to the beach with her family, friends and two kitties.
Carleen is an aspiring optometrist from Oakland, CA. She received her undergraduate degree from Cal State Long Beach in Health Science. Currently, she is taking classes at Merritt College to fulfill prerequisite requirements for optometry school. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her two dogs, playing the piano, reading, writing, and painting.
